Clothesline
is a collection of fabric-based baby gifts made by graphic designer Jen
Lindsay. Specializing in quilted baby mats, appliquéd onesies and
her signature stuffed giraffes, Jen’s products have a quaint homemade
quality that bring to mind a simpler time, but her use of contrasting modern
palettes and fabrics by designers such as Amy Butler and Michael Miller
keep her creations fresh and unique.
Her greatest inspiration stems from her own personal experience through
the birth of her son, Eli, where she found the use of her baby mat
invaluable.
In the early months she used it to as a portable soft surface and was easily
able to move from room to room, from her bed to the hardwood floors, and
Eli could be comfortably placed right next to her. And in the next few
months as a tummy time mat where Eli could be placed on his tummy
to work on those
all-important strengthening exercises. Now that Eli is a year and a half
she uses it as a blanket for the stroller and car seat.
After graduating from Kutztown University, Jen stayed in the area. For
several years, she lived on the outskirts of town, but after learning she
was pregnant
Jen and her husband bought a house in Kutztown to be within walking distance
of the park and the schools – and to be back in the place that she
always loved and felt was home. |
